Lino Printing, Blind Embossing, Making Journals workshop - latest

This is the latest set of images from my recent workshop for The Cultural Sisters held at Birmingham Printmakers. Firstly we start off cutting the lino blocks and making some blind embossings. Then we get on with the printing and it is always a pleasure to see all the different ideas that everyone comes up with:

Even more exciting to see all the finished concertina journals:

The prints look wonderful, I especially like the offset floral print. The idea of blind embossing appeals to me, I must give it a try one day.

The concertina books are a joy to behold, it is strange the way a print looks entirely different when made into a book jacket.

Ah, I never thought of using a lino-cut plate for blind embossing - clever idea!
Love those prints - especially the two-colour flower and the happy tree.
Using the prints to make journals is a fab idea - something useful and functional to take home, so it's not just a day's printing put in a drawer and forgotten.
