Thank you and links to great Printmaking Blogs

I have been awarded the above by a lovely Austrailian printmaker Jennifer Nieuwnhof whom I haven't met but (although we have a mutual friend at Birmingham Printmakers) and who writes a blog called The Happy Printmaker.  This award was given to me a little while ago so sorry Jen for not posting this straight away. I was very flattered to read that Jen wrote this about me: Jacqui Dodds captures texture boldly and when she uses colour, you are hit right between the eyes. Her art demands attention, an exploration. Truly inspiring.

Thank you Jen.

These awards are given by bloggers to other blogs that they feel have motivated and inspired them.

The tradition of the blog requires that recipients who choose to accept the award do the following:

1. Link back to the person who gave it and thank them.
2. Post the award to their blog.
3. Give the award to 5 bloggers with less than 200 followers that they appreciate and value.
4. Leave a comment on the 5 blogs to let them know that they have been offered this award.

So I decided to choose printmakers or artists with printmaking skills. In no particular order here are my choices and I have found it very difficult to limit it to just five - here they are - click on the links below to find out more about these lovely creative people:

http://elizabethbanfield.blogspot.co.uk/   - Elizabeth is another Australian Printmaker whose printmaking skills with linocut and her innovative techniques in printing onto Japanese paper inspire me every time I see Elizabeth's posts.

http://www.diaryofaprintmaker.com/  - Printmaker Gail Brodholt - also lino printing - her easily recognisable and vibrantly coloured prints of London. Gail's posts are always full of useful information about her processes, exhibitions and studio - just to name a few things.

http://casholmes.blogspot.co.uk/   -  I have been inspired by Cas' beautiful work for a while now and have been to see exhibitions of her work close to.  I was really pleased when she started blogging so that I can keep up to date with her prolific work.

http://inkyprintsintheattic.blogspot.co.uk/  - Fiona Humphrey is a fellow Birmingham Printmaker (lino print and collagraph) and although a relatively new blogger is a natural as well as being a very talented artist.  Follow the link to see Fiona's beautiful work.

http://suebrownprintmaker.blogspot.co.uk/ - Sue is extremely enthusiastic about her work as I was lucky enough to find out myself on one of her recent workshops near me. Very generous in sharing her printmaking skills and incorporates fabulous colour and images into her art.

So click through to all these lovely links and if like me you feel inspired by them follow and read their blogs.

Well done Jacqui on your award. I already follow several of these bloggers, and am a huge fan of Sue Brown and her inspirational approach to all things creative. Excellent choices.

Hi Wendy
Thank you there are some very inspiring blogs out there - just having a look at yours now - like your etchings and I see that you did your MA with Sue - I would have liked to see the show.
