Geological Traces, Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery

These are my latest blind embossing prints as part of our new exhibition Object Lessons at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery.

For this body of work I have chosen to explore some of the objects in the Geology Collection from the Shrewsbury Museum. These objects are in a state of transition as they are subject to the process of being re-established in the new Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery.

These blind embossings, devoid of colour, endeavour to show traces of these objects in their ambiguous states and offer the viewer, partial, fleeting glimpses similar to viewing them in their present state – some objects are available in their cases and others have disappeared - all will reappear later in their new environments.

Exhibition dates are 10th November 2012 - 28th January 16th March 2013  - if you are in Shrewsbury come along and see my work and that of the other artists.

I very much like the look of these embossings. They have been presented in such an appropriate way too on that wall. Good luck with the show.

Thank you Olga. Yes I do like the way they look on the wall - it is quite interesting to present white on white.

GThey look stunning, such a clever idea also to link your work to a gallery. I will try to get over to see it if I can.
