Cornwall, Part Two

As promised in my earlier post about Cornwall here are photos of the second place that we visited there a few weeks ago.  This visit to St Ives was a real bonus and the weather was unexpected (to everyone else as well as Porthmeor beach was totally empty). We visited St Ives on our way home and managed to park right next to Porthmeor beach in order to visit the Tate St Ives. I want to visit again, at a quiet, special time like this.

Many friends have been to the Tate St Ives but this is the first time that we have visited and there was an exhibition on of William Scott's work which was an added bonus.
The building is centred around a viewing area cased in glass that looks out to the beach and sea and frames the seascape like a painting in every direction:

A must is to visit the rooftop cafe and sea the view from there:

Walking along the beautiful sandy beach:

Beautiful sunshine - beautiful beach - I was lucky to stay in St Ives with a view of the beach, but not so lucky with the weather! And the William Scott exhibition had finished...

Yes Margaret we were really lucky with the perfect weather and it was actually at the end of April!
Very pleased to have found your blog as well and have been looking through it - found your St Ives photos.
I am amazed at the the wealth of information about art on your blog and will be taking a regular look at it.

I love St Ives and the gallery is a wonderful treat - the art sometimes is disappointing but not the gallery. The Hepworth garden is my favourite place though - so serene and beautiful in any weather

We were very lucky that there was a William Scott exhibition on when we were there so made it an exciting place.
Wish we had time to visit the Hepworth Garden - it sounds wonderful.
